Application Software Developer

Assignment is the further development of tooling for our 3rd line support desk. A first phase of the tool is operational with security and connectivity arranged. In this second phase a set of new use-cases needs to be made available for which draft requirements are available. The tool needs to be properly documented and users need to be trained. The go-live date for the tool is expected to be mid May 2024.

The application developer needs to have ample experience in Python and Linux, and also have experience with Docker/Podman and GUI development in HTML. Clear communication, documentation, and training skills are also important.

What you'll do

• You will speak to stakeholders and users of the tooling to gather and confirm requirements on functionality

• You will make a plan with scope and timeline for this project

• You will code, test, and document the software tooling, building on existing code

• You will train the users on usage and maintenance of the tooling 

Who you are

• You have ample experience with application development in Python and also with Linux OS

• You have experience with Docker/Podman (container solution of RedHat)

• You have experience with GUI development in HTML

• You can gather requirements and make your own planning

• You can document clearly and explain / train KPN employees

• You have good communication skills in English (Dutch is nice to have)

• Some domain knowledge, e.g. telco experience / network knowledge / operations experience, is nice to have
