Join Philips Innovation Engineering as a Senior Systems Engineer, specializing in Mechatronics and Manufacturing Systems. In this pivotal role, you will contribute to the growth and innovation of our engineering division, collaborating with highly skilled experts from both Philips and our customers to deliver advanced, high-quality systems that meet business and user needs.
Your Role:
As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will be a technical leader in a multidisciplinary project team. You will tackle real-world challenges by applying cutting-edge technologies, managing complexity, and driving innovation. This role will involve providing technical leadership, shaping future capabilities in software-driven hardware engineering (Model-Driven Engineering), and guiding teams through complex system design processes.
You will be responsible for translating user and business needs into system models, leading technical reviews, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Your work will influence the design, quality, and performance of our products or processes, making a substantial impact on innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
Translate user and business requirements into system models, ensuring systems meet both functional and business goals.
Define and manage technical budgets, decompose systems into subsystems, and ensure proper traceability of requirements to hardware/software components.
Conduct trade-offs between competing design specifications, assess feasibility of solutions, and lead technical and design reviews.
Provide technical leadership to ensure system-level product release and lifecycle management, focusing on quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
Lead the application of Model-Driven Engineering, using models to design, simulate, and implement hardware systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful integration and verification of systems through defined test strategies.
Pioneer and contribute to innovation initiatives, enhancing product quality through continuous improvement and leadership in the design process.
Qualifications & Skills:
MSc or PhD in Engineering, with at least 10 years of experience in innovative product development, preferably in medical devices or imaging.
Demonstrated ability to lead technological improvements and innovation processes within multidisciplinary teams.
Experience working with the V-model, defining requirements, developing test specifications, and managing the test execution process.
Proven expertise as a senior systems engineer in one or more of the following domains: medical equipment, industrial automation, or high-precision mechatronics.
Strong focus on Design for Quality, with Green Belt or Black Belt certification (or equivalent) as a plus.
Extensive experience with Model-Based System Engineering and other Model-Based Design tools.
Willingness to travel up to 25% and work on-site with customers when needed.
