Freelance Risk & Compliance Expert (ZZP)

Within Vanderlande transformation & change management is relatively new to the organization and a fast growing discipline. You have the opportunity to leave your mark on change in the organization, since you will support steering the change approach to the next level. You have the ability to implement creative and proven change activities with effect.

You are responsible for the activities of embedding and implementing the Vanderlande Enterprise Risk Management & Compliance Framework (ERM Framework). It means contributing and monitoring the process of Domain Risk Analyses, Process risk assessments, defining key risks and key controls and implement and train control owners. On the first wave, the scope out of the 10 Business Domains will be the domains Supply, Finance and IT Security. 

Design and/or re-design of business process might be in scope of the ERM Framework. Your activities are meant to support our people in their change journeys and drive a sustainable transformation of being ‘In Control’.

You will be part of the Corporate Strategy and Transformation (CST) team of Vanderlande, reporting to the Program Manager of Compass ERM & Compliance.

In this role, you have the following responsibilities:

• Support the Transformation & Change Management program Compass ERM initiative

• Perform operational risk analysis within the Vanderlande Business Domains

• Perform process risk assessment within Business Domains together with the 1st and 2nd line

• Assess key risks and define mitigating key controls at process level

• Design control sheets to smoothen the implementation and allocation of controls to control executors

• Train and implement control executors to execute (periodically) and proper documenting of key controls

• Assist on shaping and deliver communications and change efforts aimed at breaking down silos

• Track, report completion of deliverables, signal and anticipate on risk and roadblocks

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:

• Strong track record in Risk Management and Process Controls in large-scale organizations

• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal and excellent active listening skills

• Experience and knowledge of ERM methodologies (COSO, J-SOX) and GRC tools

• Proven ability to be an independent contributor and pioneer with experience in the entire field of Risk Management & Compliance

• Structured, organized and stress resilient personality able to quickly understand the issues and find countermeasures

• Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations

• A team player and able to work effectively at all levels in an organization

• An excellent command of the English language (both verbal and written). Dutch or other languages would be advantageous

• University degree (Masters degree) ideally in Economics, Audit (Accountancy), Finance & Control

• Preferably experience in a production/logistic environment
