JOB PURPOSE
In this role you are responsible for managing day-to-day logistics operations, master plan development and execution for the Netherlands region.
The logistics network in the Netherlands consists of several ambient and frozen warehouses, which together with the accompanying distribution networks deliver over 1mio pallets to our customers per annum.
The primary focus of the role is to ensure smooth logistics operations and processes to ensure the best product, best service and the best experience to our customers at the lowest costs and carbon impact and prevent or when needed solve any operational issues (capacity, network).
As part of costs, service and carbon optimization it is expected to develop, initiate, implement and deliver (operational) continuous improvement, Zero Based Budgeting and Fuel for Growth projects. Furthermore, to develop future fit logistics capabilities as well as to participate, engage and interact in centrally led initiatives from Europe Logistics and Global Logistics.
You will be required to work closely with the wider logistics team (Global, Europe and UltraLogistik), other internal functions like Plan, Customer Service, Procurement and Quality, as well as with a wide set of external companies and stakeholders like 3PL, warehouse operators, transporters, and carriers to achieve this.
In the role you will be closely working together with the Logistics Manager Belgium and Luxembourg.
WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE?
Day-to-day management and control of all warehousing and distribution operations for Dutch route-to-market.
KPI, cost and operational performance (CCFOT) management across all warehousing operations and distribution networks.
Budget control, financial forecasting and performance cycle management of entire Dutch Logistics scope and spend, across 1Y transport, 2Y transport, warehousing and pallets.
Zero Based Budgeting and Fuel for Growth agenda: identification, initiation and implementation of efficiency, continuous-improvement and savings projects.
Development and implementation of continuous improvement roadmaps and masterplans with all the Dutch Logistics 3PL partners, both in warehousing and in transportation.
Logistics Transformation: definition, development and implementation of in-flight and future Dutch Logistics strategy, network design and capabilities together with the Logistics Transformation team and Procurement, in line with overall Supply Chain strategy and external market developments.
Understanding of local business requirement and translation into required in-market logistics services and capabilities.
Alignment with procurement on contracting cycle and schedule, tendering requirements and market logistics requirements to ensure fit for purpose procurement of logistics services.
Key member of the European Logistics Leadership team, co-creating and developing the logistics strategic agenda and program.
Build, maintain and develop strong relationships with external 3PLs, warehousing providers and carriers and other relevant industry players.
Development and implementation of sustainability and carbon reduction initiatives (e.g. alternative fuels and alternative vehicle technologies.)
Lead and develop the Dutch Logistics team (4 FTE) and ensure high employee engagement at every level through effective motivation, coaching, training, and development of employees in the team.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS YOU SHOULD HAVE
University level degree
Minimum 5 years of experience in Logistics and Supply Chain Management
Distinctive analytical power combined with practical creativity for identification of improvement potential and problem resolution.
Hands-on mentality and bias for action mindset, goes above and beyond to ensure smooth logistics operations in Dutch.
Ability to turn thought into action and think strategically.
Excellent communication skills and experience in collaboration and negotiation with 3rd parties.
Previous experience in people management and leading a team.
Ability to see and understand multiple perspectives of different internal and external stakeholders and act as bridge builder in finding solutions and maintaining healthy relationships.
