Freelance IS-IT Applications Engineer (ZZP)

About the Job:

As an engineer, you will work with the squad to deploy, maintain, and optimize the new tooling for Thales Software Engineers. The team works primarily with Linux and container-based technologies, focusing on process automation. This is done in collaboration with other squads to achieve progress together.

Within these activities, you will be responsible for:

• Managing applications on Linux and (Tanzu) Kubernetes 

• Automating existing and future processes with Ansible and FluxCD 

• Creating and maintaining GitLab CI/CD pipelines used by the team 

• Monitoring deployed applications and proactively resolving issues 

• Managing the internal Kubernetes clusters used by the team 

• Deploying and maintaining tools in close cooperation with Engineering Support teams in other Thales countries 

• Actively introducing new technologies for the benefit of the team 

About You:

Must haves:

• A technical (IT/Engineering) educational background 

• A customer-oriented attitude and good communication skills 

• Strong problem-solving ability and perseverance 

• Excellent command of English, both written and spoken 

• At least 3 years of experience in a similar role/position where the focus is on application support

• Extensive knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems 

• Knowledge of deploying and managing engineering applications on a Linux/Kubernetes platform 

• Experience with automation using Ansible 

• Experience with deploying and maintaining PostgreSQL databases Experience with containers (Docker, Podman) and container orchestration (Kubernetes) 

• Experience with collecting metrics (Prometheus) and monitoring dashboards (Grafana)
