Freelance Global Strategic Sourcing Lead - Software & Cybersecurity (ZZP)
The Strategic Sourcing Manager plays a key role within the Wolters Kluwer Global Strategic Sourcing Team. This global position is responsible for overseeing essential projects across the Software and Cybersecurity category. Reporting directly to the Director of Strategic Sourcing, the manager will lead strategic planning, execution, and supplier management activities to drive value for Wolters Kluwer. Operating at a mid-senior level, this role necessitates a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on involvement, in line with Wolters Kluwer's values of teamwork and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with Business Leaders: Partner closely with Wolters Kluwer business leaders to deliver priority strategic sourcing projects, managing each project from inception to completion.
Contract and Supplier Management: Develop a comprehensive understanding of software supplier contracts and complex SaaS agreements. Lead the establishment, negotiation, and execution of these agreements, ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance with Wolters Kluwer policies.
End-to-End Project Management of Key Sourcing Initiatives: Lead complex renewals, RFPs, and other critical sourcing initiatives from inception to completion, managing each step as a dedicated project manager. Ensure successful outcomes by aligning with business objectives, negotiating strategic terms, and driving maximum value for Wolters Kluwer.
Demand Analysis: Conduct demand collection and analysis to align supply with business requirements.
Contract Negotiation: Coordinate with internal business owners and legal counsel to negotiate contracts that meet Wolters Kluwer’s legal and business requirements, ensuring timely execution without disruptions.
Industry Representation: Act as a representative of Wolters Kluwer within the industry, promoting our values and interests.
Qualifications and Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Procurement,Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 10 years of professional experience, with at least 5-years experience in Software sourcing for a large multinational company.
Software Deal Management: Demonstrated experience in managing and negotiating complex Software and SaaS agreements with significant commercial spend, consistently delivering exceptional commercial outcomes and value for the organization.
Supplier Experience: Experience working with major software vendors, SaaS, and AI technologies (e.g., Salesforce, Adobe, Onguard, Qliktech, Sitecore, Consensus)
Hands-On Approach: A proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving; not afraid to get their hands dirty and engage directly in complex tasks.
Navigating Complexity: Ability to work autonomously and navigate a large, complex organization while managing intricate supplier contracts.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to communicate complex information effectively.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of inspiring confidence among senior leadership and fostering collaborative relationships.
Project Management: Proven organizational and project management abilities, with a track record of successfully driving global projects in cross-functional and complex environments.
Adaptability: Comfortable working in ambiguous situations and adept at managing unpredictable outcomes.
Purchasing Expertise: Extensive hands-on experience in all aspects of the purchasing process, including developing RFPs, conducting competitive procurement processes, analyzing price responses, calculating Total Cost of Ownership, leading negotiations, and crafting contracts on a global basis.
Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
Language Requirements: Fluency in English is required.
