Job description
SABIC’s Governance & Global Controllership is accountable for the analyses, compliance and reporting of SABIC’s financial position and performance to internal and external stakeholders. Due to carve out activities, the remainco organization needs extra financial professionals.
We are looking for a highly motivated Specialist Europe Controllership to join our Europe Controllership team. The position will be based in Amsterdam and will be responsible for all controllership activities of SABIC’s European legal entities.
You will be partnering with the wider finance community and hold responsibility for the following:
• Prepare several statutory financial statements under local GAAP in Europe, including two consolidated financial statements under IFRS
• Maintain solid walks for GAAP to statutory reconciling adjustments, including full equity reconciliations
• Coordinate the external audits of local statutory financial statements and Group audit under specific scope
• Ensure compliance with other local regulatory financial reporting requirements
• Monitor the monthly, quarterly and year-end SAP G/L closing in close collaboration with local G/L accounting team members, and provide accounting guidance where required
• Maintain, update and analyse various internal reports in connection with e.g. project costs, revenue recognition, etc.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly legal entity analyses and commentary, for submission to Global Controllership in Riyadh
• Support with various Group reporting requirements
• Provide various accounting and financial reporting data to Direct Tax and Transfer Pricing teams for tax compliance purposes
• Provide accounting and financial reporting data, in support of various projects, intercompany financing and cash repatriation initiatives and other ad-hoc requests
• Identify and implement opportunities to optimise processes and systems for accounting and internal/ external financial reporting of the legal entities in Europe
Requirements
• Academic degree in accounting or finance
• 7+ years relevant experience in an international environment
• Combination of Big 4 and corporate experience preferred
• Hand-on experience with accounting and statutory financial statements
• Working knowledge of IFRS and Dutch GAAP
• Strong communication and analytical (numerical) skills
• Team player with effective influencing skills
• Advanced user of SAP S/4, MS Office Excel and Powerpoint
• Fluent in English, additional language skills are a plus
Assignment preferable in Amsterdam (Geleen can be an option), 3 days at the office, 40 hours per week.
