Freelance Financial Controller (ZZP)

As a Financial Controller, you will work closely with your colleagues from Financial Control and Business Control. Your main responsibility is to ensure timely and accurate reporting of the legal entities, both to Corporate and in compliance with local requirements. You will contribute to improving processes and driving improvements within the organization.

Initial tasks will include:

• Payroll conversion to financial administration (via files delivered by Raet/Visma)

• IFRS 16 entries on leased assets

• Fixed asset accounting

• Supporting other areas such as VAT/CBS returns, period closings, audit support, and other administrative tasks as needed

Further daily tasks include:

• Ensuring a timely, complete, and accurate month-end close process

• Performing month-end close activities in line with IFRS and Marel accounting guidelines and implementing new accounting and reporting requirements into systems and processes

• Ensuring compliance with corporate policies and guidelines as well as local laws and regulations and VAT

• Preparing and adjusting finance journal entries, such as accruals, deferrals, reclassifications, and interdepartmental entries in the company’s accounting ledger

• Performing account analysis to ensure that entries and balances are correct

• Monthly reconciliation of the general ledger to ensure all entries are accurate and transactions are reported in accordance with accounting standards and government regulations

For this assignment, the following qualifications are important:

• At least 3 to 5 years of relevant working experience in a project-driven company (experience is more important than education, given the short transfer period)

• Preferably located in the Lichtenvoorde region

• Interested in potentially transitioning to a permanent position

• Analytical and communication skills

• Advanced ERP knowledge and the ability to turn data into management information

• Fluent in both Dutch and English (spoken and written)

• Excellent skills in MS-Office, especially Excel

• Hands-on mentality, dynamic, enthusiastic, and solution-oriented
