The Business Analyst (IT) serves as a critical link between business stakeholders and the IT development team, ensuring that technology solutions align with business needs and objectives. This role involves analyzing and documenting business processes and information flow, identifying areas for improvement, and recommending solutions that leverage technology to achieve business goals. The Business Analyst is instrumental in gathering requirements, defining project scopes, and assisting in the implementation of IT systems to drive operational efficiency. In Agile environment, Business Analyst ensures users stories are complemented with diagrams, flows and documentation to support technical implementation decisions by the development team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Requirements Gathering and Analysis
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business objectives, needs, and challenges
Elicit, document, and validate business, functional, and technical requirements
Translate business requirements into detailed user stories, use cases, and process flows
Process Analysis and Optimization
Analyze and optimize business processes and workflows to drive efficiency and improve system functionality
Recommend improvements and develop optimized solutions using IT tools and technologies
Conduct impact assessments and cost-benefit analyses to support prioritization of proposed changes
Use data-driven insights to inform decision-making and optimize processes
Project Support and Management
Work with project managers to define project scopes, timelines, and deliverables
Assist in developing project plans and listing down project activities
Work closely with Product Owners as a member of Agile development team
Solution Design and Implementation
Liaise with the development team to design and implement IT solutions that meet business needs
Conduct system testing ensure solutions meet acceptance criteria, organize and conduct user acceptance testing (UAT), and assist with overall quality assurance
Provide training, support, and documentation for end-users on new systems and processes
Data Analysis and Reporting
Utilize data analysis tools to extract, analyze, and interpret data to support decision-making
Generate reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate insights to stakeholders
Create dashboards, reports, and visualizations to measure project outcomes and track performance metrics
Stakeholder Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with business leaders, technical teams, and external vendors
Facilitate meetings, workshops, and presentations to gather feedback and provide updates
Act as a liaison between business units and IT to ensure effective communication and collaboration
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field
5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in an IT environment
Certifications such as CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) or PMI-PBA (Professional in Business Analysis) are a plus
Familiarity with ECM, PIM, DAM, ERP, CRM, DMS, CMS or other enterprise systems is an advantage
Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies
Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly language
Proficiency in business analysis tools and methodologies (e.g., SWOT analysis, GAP analysis)
Experience with requirements management tools (e.g. Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, Asana)
Strong understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe®) and experience working in Agile environments
